This is a new beginning for me. Other than NaNoWriMo the last three years, I’ve pretty much been MIA in the writing world since 2011 when I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Before that, I was active in several writing groups, ran a successful online magazine for seven years, and ran multiple writing workshops in conjunction with other groups.
MS isn’t a one-size-fits-all chronic illness, and it’s taken me several years to test my limits. Other than a bad stint in a wheelchair in 2012, my MS has mostly consisted of long periods of muscle weakness and fatigue. It’s left me unable to work full-time, and instead I’m focusing on writing and freelance editing.
